Drew Rose, DO, is the Clinical Medical Director at the Riordan Clinic in Wichita, Kansas. As a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine board-certified in internal medicine, Dr. Rose sees patients with complex and chronic illness.
Dr. Drew is originally from Wichita and earned a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry in 2010, with a minor in Spanish, from Wichita State University. He completed his medical education at Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine (RVUCOM) in Englewood, Colorado. With a commitment to global health, Dr. Rose participated in RVUCOM’s Global Honors Track, traveling to seven countries during medical school, with rotations in Honduras, Peru, Costa Rica, and Kenya.
Dr. Drew became board-certified in Internal Medicine after completing his residency at Swedish Covenant Hospital in northern Chicago in 2019. During that time, he received the “Intern of the Year” award. Returning to Kansas, Dr. Rose became a Salina Regional Health Center Hospitalist in August 2019. While at Salina Regional Health Center, Dr. Drew served as Clinical Medical Director of the Hospitalist group for two years and Department of Medicine Chair for one year.
Dr. Drew notes how his experience in the ICU during the COVID pandemic reinforced his belief in personalized, holistic healthcare approaches.
“Working [in the] ICU during the pandemic showed me just how important it is to individualize treatments for patients, as ‘cookie-cutter medicine’ was, and still is, quite ineffective,” Dr. Drew will see Riordan Clinic patients at our Wichita campus.
Since 2013, Dr. Drew has written or presented on various osteopathic medicine topics to a wide variety of audiences.
From a young age, Dr. Drew has been “fascinated by science, specifically how the body works”. His own healthcare challenges led him to question “why”, which made a career immersed in science and ‘root cause’ medicine the logical choice.
Dr. Drew is dedicated to expanding the Riordan Clinic’s community engagement and education initiatives while providing a well-rounded, holistic approach to complex medical cases.
He is inspired by a quote by Andrew Taylor Still, MD, DO, the Father of Osteopathy and fellow Kansan.
“To find health is the object of the doctor. Anyone can find disease.”
When not caring for patients, Dr. Drew enjoys spending time with his husband of 17 years and their two dogs. He is passionate about wildlife conservation and world travel, believing “life begins outside your comfort zone.” He also tends to eight chickens and dreams of cultivating a large garden one day.
