Sarah Wedel, RN, BSN
After earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from MidAmerica Nazarene University, Sarah spent the first six years of her career working in the Operating Room at the University of Kansas Hospital. She held different roles across the unit from Operating Room Nurse, Team Leader, and Supervisor during her time at KU.
Throughout 2020, Sarah worked with her personal health coach, holistic nutritionist, personal trainer, and a functional medicine provider, This sparked an interest and passion for holistic healthcare. In the fall of that year, Sarah began to pursue the Functional Medicine Health Coach certification through Functional Medicine Coaching Academy who is partnered with the Institute for Functional Medicine, which she will complete in September 2021.
Since joining Riordan Clinic, her appreciation and understanding of the value of integrative patient care continues to grow. Sarah is grateful for the culture of kindness, growth, patience, and pride that Riordan demonstrates amongst the team and patients. She believes that maintaining a positive mindset, joyful movement, personalized nutrition, and lowering stress levels have a significant impact on one’s life.
Outside of work, Sarah enjoys spending time with their goldendoodle, Alfie, traveling, hiking, and exploring the National Parks, running, and reading. Sarah and her husband, Aaron are expecting their first child this fall and are very excited about their new journey as a growing family.
