Ruth Scimeca PhD

Ruth C. Scimeca is a Doctor in Veterinary Medicine who graduated from Guatemala. In 2005, she was granted with a fellowship from the government of Spain where she obtained a Masters in Science and a Cum Laude Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Castilla la Mancha University. From 2011 to 2013 she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Veterinary Pathobiology in Oklahoma State University. Her background includes molecular biology, gene expression, characterization of the pathogen-host interface, vaccine development, animal models, cell culture and cancer research. She has published over 46 manuscripts in per review journals and in 2009 earned the Norval Young award in Lübeck Germany from the Society of Tropical Veterinary Medicine and the Phi Zeta Research award in 2013 from the Oklahoma State University Veterinary Center. She started working at the Riordan Clinic in 2015 where she is incorporating nutrigenomics research studies.
