Learn yoga practices for pain management incorporating breathwork, meditation, mantra, mudra, and gentle movement. These techniques will help people living with persistent pain to move with more ease, experience less pain, and improve quality of life.
- Cost: $80 per participant. Pay online through Waterfall Yoga’s website or pay Sarah via cash or credit card before the first class begins. Please still RSVP using the form below so that the Riordan Clinic is also aware that you will be on-site for this class. Each person in the room must be a paid participant. Pain is not always an accurate indication of what is happening in the body. Luckily we have the capacity to rewire the brain and change our pain. This class will teach yogic practices for pain management incorporating breathwork, meditation, mantra, mudra, and gentle movement. These techniques will help people living with persistent pain to move with more ease, experience less pain, and improve quality of life. No prior yoga is experience required. Chairs will be provided for comfort and safety.
Pain Care Yoga was developed by Neil Pearson, a physical therapist, yoga therapist, and Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of British Columbia. Sarah Cummins has trained with Neil and is a certified Pain Care Yoga Teacher. or visit Sarah’s website, Waterfall Yoga LLC.
Sarah Cummins is the owner of Waterfall Yoga LLC and an experienced yoga teacher who empowers individuals to embody their own intuitive ability to be free of physical and emotional pain and to obtain ultimate healing through the holistic practices of yoga therapy. Sarah is a 500 hr registered yoga teacher with over 1600 hours of global teaching experience. She is a certified Pain Care Yoga instructor specializing in empowering clients to self-manage their chronic pain with the education of pain science. She is certified in Functional Movement and a certified ACE Personal Trainer helping people with functional movement issues and concerns as well as a certified Yoga Warriors teacher, teaching yoga to those suffering from post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, and amputations.
Graduating from business school with Magna Cum Laude honors, Sarah’s true passion is teaching others the value of maintaining health and energetic balance with Hatha and Ayurvedic yoga therapy practices. Her dream is to one day open up Waterfall Yoga Therapy and Retreat Center on her land nestled in the smoky hills with the sounds of her majestic waterfall cascading nearby. Sarah can be contracted to teach private and small group sessions, teaches workshops, wellness retreats, yoga Nidra/meditation, chair yoga, alignment-oriented yoga, mommy and baby yoga, and prenatal.
