Dr. Michelle Niesley earned her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University in Seattle, WA, in 2001. Following her doctorate, she completed a two-year hospital-based residency at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) near Chicago, Illinois.

In 2005, Dr. Niesley furthered her education with a Masters in Evaluative Clinical Sciences from Dartmouth College, focusing on biostatistics and epidemiology. She then worked at the Raby Institute for Integrative Medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago as a clinical researcher and co-director of Integrative Medicine Research.

Dr. Niesley has served on the Board of Directors for the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians and is an active member of the Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians. She also held the position of president of the Pennsylvania Association of Naturopathic Physicians. Her extensive research includes publications on integrative oncology, acupuncture for cancer patients, and Vitamin D deficiency in cancer patients. She has presented her research at numerous national and international conferences.

Originally from the Portland area, Dr. Niesley completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Oregon. After leaving her role as the Director of Clinical Research at CTCA in Philadelphia in February 2016, she returned to Oregon, where she is happily raising her children.

Dr. Niesley’s expertise in internal medicine, oncology, and clinical research design allows her to integrate seamlessly into the evidence-based model of modern conventional medicine.

Dr. Niesley was interviewed by the Association of Accredited Naturopathic Medical Colleges (AANMC) during her tenure as Director of Research at CTCA in Philadelphia, where she shared her inspiration for pursuing naturopathic medicine.
